Select the site you are submitting records from. If your site is not listed, please select the closest option from the list and add precise location in the 'comments' box.
Enter the date of the sighting(s)
Enter your sighting(s) by choosing the species from the drop-down boxes, entering the count and adding any comments (for precise location details, subspecies details, interesting notes etc). The comments box can also be used to submit a species description if you wish. The bottom species row is 'free text' instead of a drop box just incase you have any unlisted species to report.
If your site is not listed, or your sighting was 'on the road' somewhere, select 'Site not listed' from the site drop down list and enter the name of the site or be as accurate as you can location-wise in the comments box. It will shortly after be added to the list for future selection if necessary.
If you are entering more than ten species please use an additional form. Entering multiple species in the comments box makes it very cumbersome for data entry into the database by the Recorder.
If you are submitting records for more than one date/site, please send multiple forms since this new form only allows one site at a time. This simply facilitates data entry by the recorder. If you want your site adding to the selectable list, have noticed a species missing from the drop down box or have any other queries about this new form, please send them to .
Please note that all records submitted here are sent to the County Recorder, Bulletin Editor plus the website administrator for possible inclusion on the site's front page. However observers should not be discouraged from submitting information via this method about rare breeding species since we do exercise discretion when selecting what appears on the website. If you do
not want your report to be publicised on the website then indicate in one of the comments boxes. There is also a tickbox to selec
t if you wish your report to be anonymous should it appear on the website.
UPDATE (Jan 2008): After consideration by the Bird Club Scientific Committee it has been reaffirmed that during the breeding season, the website will not be updated to show records of Red Kites and Ravens where there is a possibility of breeding occurring. Both species have recently bred in the county and locations will not be publicised here. As stated above, all records are sent to the Recorder so you may still submit reports of these species here and know they will not be wasted.
